Romulus Central School!
Our goal in developing this new site is to have more information available to you regarding the wonderful things that are happening on a daily basis here at Romulus. We have a calendar of events for sports, music, opportunities for community involvement, along with current events. Links will be established for teacher, student, and community resources. And we are still exploring possibilities!
Romulus truly is “The Small School with the Big Idea”. Our staff is a very dedicated group of professionals who strive to give each and every student a first rate educational experience. Although our results are outstanding, we are constantly exploring new ways to prepare our children for a global economy and an ever-changing world. One of the advantages of a rural school district is the ability to “get to know” the students on a personal level and tailor their educational opportunities to fit their personal needs and goals. I am not aware of another district that does a better job of that than Romulus.
Please take the time to explore all that we have to offer through our sports, extra-curricular, Fine Arts, and Music programs, in addition to the Gemini Courses affiliated with FLCC. Students can earn transferable college credit while still in High School, helping the parents of college bound seniors financially.
In closing, we are a high-achieving school district that has earned the prestigious honor of being recognized by US News and World Report as a Gold Medal School. Very few schools in the country were so honored. Despite our successes, Romulus still faces many of the same issues as other small districts in New York State, such as shrinking revenue, unfunded state and federal mandates, land trusts, threats of forced mergers, and confusion regarding State Aid. Fortunately we are well-positioned, at this time, with a healthy reserve fund, as well as sharing support services with other school districts (Waterloo, Seneca Falls, Geneva and BOCES). We, as a school district and as a community, are committed to being fiscally responsible while remaining an independent rural school district.
